‘BACH IN LEUVEN’, a joint initiative of the non-profit organisation Artes Gertrudis and the Hildebrandt Consort, is a series of concerts performed during the 2017-2018 season with music by and in tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach and culminating with a world premiere of a new work entitled ‘Grosse Messe (1739) für Bach und Luther’.
Wouter Dekoninck has remastered the ‘Dritter Teil der Clavierübung’, originally composed for organ, to give this forgotten masterpiece a new life as a work for baroque orchestra and vocal soloists in a form sure to enchant audiences of all kinds. The world premiere is planned for 12 October 2017 Luther year. You could already get a sneak preview in a more intimate arrangement performed on 09 August 2017 by Wouter Dekoninck and his Hildebrandt Consort ensemble.
